Senior Payroll Officer
Reference: 50120Our client is a reputable Manufacturer based in Port Melbourne. With business growth, this has created an opportunity for an experienced Payroll Officer to be in a stand alone position.
Responsible for 150+ staff (permanent and contractors). This position will also entail accounts responsibilities (general ledger reconciliation, preparation of month end files, rolling stock take and year-end reports).

Responsibilities:
- End to end processing of weekly & fortnightly payroll
- Manage the time and attendance system
- PAYG, Payroll Tax, WorkCover and Superannuation lodgments and payments
- Calculation of termination payments
- Preparation of monthly payroll journals for posting into the General Ledger
- Reconciliation and lodgment of annual payroll tax return, annual PAYG return and issue of payment summaries
- Compliance with statutory requirements
- Processing new starters, terminations and payroll adjustments
- Maintaining employee personnel files both paper and electronic including leave records
- Proving accurate information in response to employee queries
- Helping with month and year end processing and reconciliations
- Reconciliation of payroll accounts and entitlements to the general ledger
- Management of group KEL (Key Employee Leader) annual process
- Support management in employment contracts preparation
Profile:
- Proven experience in a similar full function Payroll Officer role
- 3+ years in Payroll (end to end)
- The ability to interpret Awards and EBAs
- Prior knowledge of PAYG, Superannuation and Payroll Tax
- Accounts experience (GL reconciliations)
- Excellent time management and communication skills
- The willingness to be a team player
- Dynamic, able to work under pressure
- Very accurate and high level of numeracy capabilities
- Able to work in autonomy
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel
- Extensive knowledge and experience of Pay Global
- Ideally knowledge of time & attendance system
